In response to the controversy surrounding China serving as the host country for the 2008 Summer Olympics, an International Olympic Committee panel of athletes has declared that participating athletes must abide by the Olympic charter banning political demonstrations. The South Greene Rebels’ soccer team finished out their regular season with a win against Rutledge Thursday night, 5-1. South Greene came out first with a goal in the 8th minute when Eddie Cedillo scored with an assist from brother Frank Cedillo, putting the Rebels up 1-0. In the 13th minute it was Frank Cedillo who found the back of the net with an assist from Stephan van der Merwe.
